"The Hood Has Eyez is mature horror to the max.....If you're easily
offended or have a touchy stomach then you need to steer clear of this
film as it will have you standing in the protest line within the first
half an hour. However if you're looking for a new breed of truly brutal
horror film......Read on! The filmmakers aren't lying when they say
that there is something in this film to offend EVERYONE and ANYONE!
It's an equal opportunity offender, and anyone who watches the film
will see exactly what I mean.....Theres everything from Boobs and Full
Frontal Nudity to Abortion and Sexual organ mutilation, In other words
something for everyone! All in all though I must say this film works on
all levels and is probably the first film in the last 15 years that
managed to make my skin crawl and make me want to shower immediately
afterwards. I applaud the filmmakers for taking the revenge/torture
genre (of which they obviously love and respect) and giving us an
uncensored and brutal approach to it. This is the most brutal and
offensive film I've ever had the pleasure of watching yet all the
characters are likeable in their own odd ways. In fact if I had to sum
this film up in a sentence it would be this : "Severely brutal,
offensive, and fucked up, but with a heart....A heart thats been pulled
from the chest of all wronged women......but a heart nonetheless!"
LOL...... needless to say don't watch this film with your girlfriend
after you've had a fight. It might empower her and give her too many
ideas!
I have to say this was probably the most vile and offensive
movie that I've ever enjoyed to this level! It'll have you wanting to
scratch your eyes out and take a shower with a steel wool pad one
second and unable to peel your eyes from the screen the next. If you
enjoyed the classic Grindhouse revenge films of the 70's such as "Day
of The Woman", "Last house on the left", "Last House On Dead-End
Street", etc then you'll go completely insane for this film....but even
those films cant prepare you for the brutality of "The Hood Has
Eyez".......You've been warned!!!!!! Buy this film today....you wont be
disappointed!"
"The violence in the movie is bravely over the top, but nothing
too exploitive, when Psycho gets what's coming to him (and you knew
that he would) you find yourself rooting the hero on, no matter how
grisly it gets. And kudos to Mr. Williams for not flinching when it
comes to the violence, while uncomfortable at first, it makes the
revenge so much sweeter when it finally comes around. And, because
Williams is an excellent filmmaker, the violence isn't there just for
the shock value, it actually forwards the story, which is pretty rare
in these days of the 'torture film'. I'm giving The Hood Has Eyez three
and a half out of four cigars. Williams hit the nail on the head with

would have condemned and dismissed it in the same breath for its vile

because this film is just down right sleazy, nasty, and vile. It's
basically the type of subject matter you'd be talking about when
mentioning the video nasties, or films that used to show up regularly
on 42nd street, but with a more modern twist to it. I can't tell you
just how mean spirited this movie can be at times, and there were
moments of general shock on my face during some of the more violent
scenes. I can't say that very often and believe me I watch a lot of
films of this nature. I'm a sucker for sleaze and this one delivers the
sleaze in boatloads. If you are thinking it might be time to check out
a low budget Indy shocker, I'd say this is the one you should see."
