Greetings from the Great Northwest...

First off... I love this site. It’s good to know I’m not the only one with this addiction. Not many of my friends understand it and it’s good to meet other people who do. Seriously you guys... I’m so glad I found you.

Enough of the mushy shit...!

Now to the real reason for the blog. I’m a partner in CyBeR Pictures ...we’re new, don’t bother looking us up... and we’re trying to get funding to produce a Horror movie I wrote. Do any of you seasoned Indie-Horror filmmakers have any advice? One of the partners (there’s three of us) has been to film school, but he was in the “Director’s Course”, not the “How the Hell do you Finance an Independent Film Company” course.

My advice is: credit cards. ther's three of you so you've got about 20 grands there to start with. The trick is to get two credit cards each at least. one that you can max out and the other one to pay off the interest for the first one. If you're really good, make out that your home phone number is the phone number for the place you work. say you are a manager on all your applications and then when they call you can act as an employee and say that you are a great manager and are no credit risk. but...if you are looking for more money than that. use your cards to make an extremely kick ass and well produced 10 minutes from the movie or trailer. then start doing the rounds. you'll get a lot of people slamming you in the face but you'll find someone who knows someone who knows someone eventually. check out our myspace site. Myself and 2 others put 60 grand into filming our movie and then were able to get other investors to anti up later. you've just gotta be insanely stupid and committed. if you throw in your own cash people are going to take you a lot more seriously when you start asking for money. also mooch off your friends. hold a party at a venue, put up some theming around the joint and charge everyone 10$ entry. You'll make about 500$ after exenses every time if you do it right. hope it helps
