Day Watch - Dnevnoi Dozor

If you still haven't seen Night Watch then this won't mean a lot to you but, on June 1st, Fox Searchlight are finally releasing Day Watch to selected cinemas in the US.

It's really weird how they are promoting this sequel again as a horror movie when it isn't. Although there's nothing scary in it, I think everyone will enjoy it a lot more than the first one.

I've seen the Russian version (with subtitles) about a year ago so I can honestly say that it is 100 times better than Night Watch. You really need to watch the two films back to back to fully appreciate either of them though.

It's no secret that Zhanna Friske was my main reason for watching these. She gets much more time on screen in this one and proves herself to be a very credible actress. In fact everyone in it seems to have gone up several notches in ability since Night Watch.

I'm not going to give you any spoilers about this film so you'll just have to believe me when I say it's really good. Watch carefully to see if it comes to a movie theatre near you because fans are already grumbling that the "limited release" (or whatever Fox are calling it) will really suck.
