2006: a great year for horror? The Descent: A powerful movie that blends glossy film technique with exploitation flair to create a truly terrifying film experience. Wolf Creek: One of the first pictures of late to genuinely recall the savage cinema period of horror - truly relentless in its approach while not being afraid to take the time to build character. Slither: The gore film is alive and well (though not at the box office). Yet another overlooked gem in the filmography of Nathan Fillion. A terrific blend of comedy and gross-out horror from the husband of "The Office's" Jenna Fischer.
