How-To: Adding Videos to iPod
Still need iTunes? Click on this button:
Before you can copy videos to your iPod, first make sure that you've added videos to your iTunes library. You can drag any iPod-compatible movie file from your hard drive to the Library icon in the iTunes Source list, or purchase any video from UHMN. Once you've done that, check out the instructions below to find out how to add your videos to your iPod and play them.

Adding Videos Manually to iPod
If you set iTunes to manually manage your music on your iPod, meaning you actually decide what goes on your iPod and when, you must manually add videos to your iPod in the same way.
Quick Easy Steps:
1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
2. Select Library or Videos in the Source list to display all of your video files in iTunes.
3. Drag any video file, or a playlist of videos, to your iPod icon in the Source list to add it.

Syncing Videos Automatically to iPod
If you've set iTunes to automatically update your iPod with all of your songs or selected playlists, you can sync your videos to your iPod just as easily. If you prefer to manually add videos, you will need to change your iPod preferences to also manually manage your music.
To sync videos automatically:1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
2. Open iTunes Preferences.
Mac users: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
Windows users: On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
3. Click the iPod tab, then click the Videos tab below it.
4. Select one of the following options to sync videos:
* Select the "Automatically update all videos" radio button to sync all of your videos to your iPod.
* Select the "Automatically update selected playlists only" radio button, then select the checkbox next to any playlist that contains the videos you want to add.
* Select the "Do not update videos" radio button if you don't wish to add videos to your iPod.
5. Click OK.
Once you close iTunes Preferences, iTunes will start updating your iPod based on the option you've selected. Please note that this can take a while, depending on how many videos you have in your collection and their size.

Viewing Videos on iPod
Playing videos on your iPod is a lot like playing music when it comes to the navigation. Like your music, you can choose to play a video file individually or you can select a playlist of videos to watch. Just select Videos in the main menu.
The Videos menu displays several categories for your videos—Video Playlists, Movies, Music Videos, TV Shows, Video Podcasts, and Video Settings.
If you created any video playlists in iTunes and copied them onto your iPod, they'll appear in the Video Playlists menu. If you've purchased videos from UHMN and copied them to your iPod, each video will appear in its respective Movies, Music Videos, or TV Shows menu. If you have any video podcasts, they'll appear in the Video Podcasts menu. And, of course, if you'd like to customize the video functionality on your iPod, you'll find some user-tweakable options in the Video Settings menu.
Here's the path you'll be led down in each Videos menu submenu.
To watch a video, just select Video Playlists if you want to play a video within a playlist, or select the video category (Movies, Music Videos, TV Shows, or Video Podcasts) that pertains to the video you want to watch. Then navigate through any submenus to your desired video, press the Play/Pause button, and it's showtime!
You can then use your iPod controls to control playback to fast-forward, rewind, pause, and do other forms of manipulation with your video. Scroll the Click Wheel clockwise to crank up the volume or scroll it counterclockwise to turn it down.
